Volunteer With Genesis House
There are many ways you can take an active role in helping Genesis House. Check out the list below for some of our available volunteer opportunities, both for individuals and groups. There is a wide variety of things that you can help us with, and if you have a hobby or a skill that you believe could be handy to us please let us know! Things To Know When Volunteering With Genesis House

For confidentiality reasons we do NOT allow volunteers in shelter for the safety and privacy of the individuals we serve.

All volunteer groups of individuals under 18 must have adult supervision
Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities:

Come Spring/Summer we could use a group of volunteers to clean up the grounds around our Outreach Building of garbage and weeds. Trash bags and yard waste bags will be provided, but you will need to provide you own gardening tools and gloves. This is a great project for groups under 18.

If you are a member of a gardening club or have a green thumb, we would love to have a person or group plant and maintain our flower box on the Outreach Grounds.

For those individuals who are experienced with tilework, at our Outreach Building we have a stripe of hand painted inspirational tiles running along the bottom of the exterior facade. Some of these tiles are coming loose and some are completely off. We would love to get these hand painted tiles back up where they belong.

During Domestic Violence Awareness month in October we would love to have individuals to help us put up as many purple ribbons as we can around various locations in Lorain County. Dates, times and locations dependent on when we get approval from local municipalities and organizations but will most likely be at the beginning of the month.
