April and her husband had two children and lived in Lorain. She filed for divorce after sustaining considerable abused during their marriage period. The divorce was final less than one month when her ex-husband stabbed April to death with a kitchen knife. She made several police reports concerning his constant harassment. He was convicted of aggravated murder and received 20 years- Life.
