Barbara was the mother of three children and lived in Lorraine. She was shot by her husband five times in the parking lot of the library where she worked. The murder was witnessed by several school aged children. After shooting his wife, Kallas walked into the library and told the auxiliary police officer that he had just shot his wife and handed him the gun. He was sentenced to 23 years- life.
